Cobourg Police – Three Suspects Charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Theft (No Names Released)

Three Toronto residents face charges after an investigation into reported thefts in Port Hope and Cobourg.

On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at approximately 12:45 p.m., police responded to a theft in progress at a business in the area of Spring Street and King Street in Cobourg. Attending officers were advised of three involved individuals believed to have committed a theft from a business in Port Hope before attending the Cobourg business. Two suspects left the Cobourg store on foot, and one left in a vehicle.

The suspect vehicle was located on University Avenue, and a vehicle stop was made. Police discovered multiple stolen items in the vehicle.

As a result of a joint investigation between the Cobourg Police and Port Hope Police Service, the 28-year-old Toronto woman was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

The two other involved individuals were located a short distance from the business. The 20-year-old man and 19-year-old woman from Toronto were arrested and charged with Theft under $5,000.

All three were held for a show cause hearing.
