In Pickering, Beer replaces one of the former players he coached in Cobourg in Connor Armour. He won the OJHLās Coach of the Year award following the 2025-2026 season before being named the new head coach and general manager of the Trenton Golden Hawks.
Armour, before joining Pickering last season, coached the Cougars to two straight playoff appearances before being let go by the Cobourg club, which went on to have a tumultuous season.
