The fast-growing sport of pickleball has a brand-new home in Northumberland County. The Dink
Den, Cobourg’s ONLY indoor pickleball club, officially opened its doors with a ribbon cutting
ceremony held on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Owned and operated by local entrepreneurs Derek Munroe, Trish St. Jean, Sherry Munroe, and
Keith St. Jean, The Dink Den is set to become a vibrant hub for players of all skill levels—from
beginners picking up a paddle for the first time to seasoned competitors looking for high-quality
play.

“Our vision was to create more than just a place to play,” said the ownership team. “We wanted to
build a community where people can connect, stay active, and share their passion for pickleball in a
welcoming, high-energy environment.”

The Dink Den features 8 premium fenced indoor courts designed for optimal play, along with a pro
shop offering top-tier equipment and apparel. The club will host leagues, lessons, tournaments, and
social events, helping to grow the sport and foster connections across the community.

The grand opening event welcomed dignitaries, local residents, supporters, and pickleball
enthusiasts who gathered to celebrate the official launch. Attendees enjoyed open play, facility
tours, and a first look at the dynamic addition to Cobourg’s recreational landscape.

With pickleball continuing to surge in popularity across Canada, The Dink Den is positioned to meet
the demand with a dedicated space focused on quality, accessibility, and fun.
