Elvis Makes Stop at Victoria Park Campground in Cobourg

In entertainment, Local

Elvis stopped by the Victoria Park Campground in Cobourg on Sunday, July 31, 2022 for a concert.

It’s the second year Elvis impersonator Sam Calleri was invited to play at the trailer of Joe Demarco on Sunday afternoon while friends gathered.

On the boardwalk numerous people also enjoyed the concert and stopped to take photos or even dance.

Calleri has been an Elvis impersonator for approximately 17-years and has performed across Canada and the United States.

Calleri and his wife would regularly attend the Elvis Festival that was held in Collingwood.

“I said to my wife, “I could do that.”

“I started singing and booked a show. Then it’s been history ever since. Busy, busy, busy.”

During the course of the afternoon Calleri sang approximately 35 of Elvis’ songs.

“I hope it entertained the people and hope everybody enjoyed it.”

“There are so many Elvis fans, Elvis will never die. His legend will never die.”

Demarco said he would like to put on a show in Victoria Park and have a number of Elvis impersonators perform with all the money going to charity.

“If we can get that together in Cobourg, it would be great. Have a whole Elvis day and have a big concert and have a good time.”
