Town of Cobourg Flags at Half-Staff in Honour of Fallen Officers

The Town of Cobourg would like to advise residents that at the request of the Mayor, flags across the Town of Cobourg will be lowered to half-staff in honour of the passing of Toronto Police Constable Marc Pinizzotto and Ontario Provincial Police Constable Tarun Bali.

OPP Constable Bali was killed in the line of duty on June 9, 2026.

Toronto Police Constable Pinizzotto was fatally wounded while executing a search warrant on June 11, in Toronto, as a member of the Emergency Task Force.

“On behalf of Council and our entire community, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of Constable Marc Pinizzotto and Constable Tarun Bali,” said Mayor Lucas Cleveland. “We honour their service and sacrifice in protecting others.”
