Durham Police – Arrests Made in Thefts from the Uxbridge LCBO

Three Toronto men are facing charges in connection with the theft of multiple bottles of alcohol from the LCBO.

On Monday, November 4, 2019, police were called regarding the theft of alcohol from the LCBO outlet on Welwood Drive in Uxbridge. Witnesses saw two males enter the store at approximately 6:45 p.m., fill a suitcase and a duffle bag with bottles of alcohol and then leave without paying. After leaving the store, a customer followed their vehicle and relayed their position to the DRPS.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., West Division officers stopped the vehicle at Brock Road and Dersan Street in Pickering and located three males inside. They also located a suitcase and a duffel bag full of unopened alcohol bottles with a value of approximately $4,000. Officers also located a small quantity of crack cocaine. Two of the males were identified as being involved in several other LCBO thefts in Durham Region.

Maurice ANTOINE, age 48, of Queen Street in Toronto is charged with: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000; Unlawfully Possess Schedule 1 Substance (crack cocaine) and Theft Under x4. He was held for a bail hearing.

Ricardo CHARLESTON, age 42, of Sadlee Cove Crescent in Toronto is charged with: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000; and Unlawfully Possess Schedule 1 Substance (crack cocaine). He was later released on a Promise to Appear.

Trevel PROVO, age 37, of Sherbourne Avenue in Toronto, is charged with: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000; Unlawfully Possess Schedule 1 Substance (crack cocaine); Theft Under $5,000 x4; Fail to Comply with Recognizance and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x7. He was held for a bail hearing.
