Georgian Bay District Secondary School captured the gold medal at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) girls A/AA hockey championship Thursday afternoon at the Cobourg Community Centre.

Ranked fourth out of 16 teams in the tournament that was hosted by Cobourg’s St. Mary Catholic Secondary School, Georgian Bay blanked No. 3 St. Michael CSS from Stratford 2-0 in the gold medal game. The champs had defeated No. 13 Lambton Central Collegiate from Petrolia in the morning semifinals.

St. Michael, the defending OFSAA champion from 2025, edged No. 1 seed Crestwood Preparatory College from Toronto 1-0 in the other semifinal matchup at the CCC.

Crestwood Prep later pulled out a 3-2 victory over Lambton Central in the bronze medal game.
OFSAA games were also played on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Baltimore Recreation Centre and Port Hope’s Jack Burger Sports Complex.

As previously reported, the host St. Mary Thunder advanced to the quarterfinals, but were eliminated in a loss to the defending champion St. Michael. https://todaysnorthumberland.ca/2026/03/25/st-mary-thunder-defeated-in-ofsaa-girls-hockey-auarterfinals/
