Drug Arrests:
Two Toronto residents and a Peterborough resident are facing several charges after police seized fentanyl, cocaine, heroin and a large quantity of cash following a vehicle stop and drug search warrant at a Water Street residence.
As a result of an ongoing investigation on July 17, 2018 members of the Peterborough Police Service’s ICAD (Intelligence, Crime Analyst, Asset Forfeiture and Drug) Unit conducted a vehicle stop at a Lansdowne Street West gas station and then executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a multi-unit residence on Water Street.
As a result of the vehicle stop and search warrant three people were arrested and charged and the following seized:
- 5 grams of heroin and fentanyl
- 1 grams of powdered cocaine
- 2 grams of crack cocaine
- A large quantity of Canadian currency
- Weigh scales, drug packaging and cellular phones
As a result of the investigation the following persons were charged:
Sedonick Atkins, 26, of Gowan Avenue, Toronto, is charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Heroin)
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking (Marijuana under 30grams)
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Breach of recognizance X2
James Sakellarakos, 26, of Water Street, Peterborough, is charged with the following:
- Traffick in schedule I substance (Cocaine)
Christopher DaCosta, 31, of Duffort Court, Toronto, is charged with the following:
- Fail to comply with a recognizance X3
- Fail to comply with a probation order
All three accused were held in custody and are scheduled to appear in court later today (July 18).
