Belleville Police – Incidents Include Impaired Charge, Assault, Interfering with Traffic

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 251 calls for service beginning at 5:00 am on September 5, 2025 to 5:00 am on September 8, 2025.

Impaired Charge
On September 6th at 12:27am, Belleville Police conducted a traffic stop. Officers spoke with the driver who was observed to be impaired. As a result of the investigation, Landon Galvin, 21-year-old Prince Edward County man, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.
He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.

Assault
On September 6th at approximately 1:15pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in the city’s west end. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a female who reported that a male had attended the residence, physically assaulted her, and then fled the scene. Officers attempted to locate the male with without success. Further investigation revealed the male was in breach of a probation order for failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

On September 7th at 5:25pm, Belleville Police were called back to the same residence. Officers located the male hiding under a mattress in the basement. As a result, a 19-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged him with:
· Failure to comply with a probation order
· Assault

He was held for a bail hearing.

Interfering With Traffic
On September 6th at 9:49 pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a female repeatedly walking into traffic in the area of Station St. and Church St. As a result, a 42-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Interfering with traffic and Failure to use cross walk.
