Belleville Police – Incidents Include Domestic Incident Involving Children, Public Intox, Arrest on Warrants

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 276 calls for service between 5:00 am on June 13, 2025 to 5:00 am on June 16, 2025.

Domestic incident involving children leads arrest and multiple charges for a Belleville man

On the 13th of June at 4:20pm, Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic incident.

Upon their arrival, police learned that a female and her two young children were assaulted by a male who was also the father of one of the children.

During the incident, the male assaulted his own child and then began to choke the female while holding her down on top of the second child.

The male also uttered threats to kill the children and mother before leaving the residence.

At 8:30pm, officers located the male at an east end residence where he was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Belleville man was charged with aggravated assault, two counts of assault and uttering threats. He was held for a bail hearing.

Traffic enforcement leads to multiple charges
On the 14th of June at 12:45am, an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle near the 401 and Hwy 62 for a licence plate violation.

A check of the driver confirmed that he was a suspended driver.

Further investigation into the vehicle revealed a number of violations.

The 36-year-old Belleville resident was charged with driving while suspended, operating with no insurance, using plates not authorized for the vehicle, intentionally altering the attached plates, failing to use a proper seatbelt assembly and driving while having Cannabis readily available.

The accused issued six summonses with a September court date.

Public Intoxication
On the 14th of June at 6:20pm, Belleville Police were dispatched to the city’s end regarding an intoxicated male who was staggering and causing issues in neighbourhood as he walked by.

Officers located the male and observed that he was heavily intoxicated.

The male was arrested for his own safety and transported to the Belleville Police Service.

The 63-year-old resident from Jordan’s Station, was released on a ticket for being intoxicated in a public place when he was deemed sober.

Arrested on Warrants
On the 14th of June at 9:00pm, officers were investigating a separate incident on Dundas Street East when they observed a male walking who was known to them to have outstanding warrants.

A check confirmed the male was wanted on three warrants for failing to attend for court, failing to comply with probation and a bench warrant with a number of other outstanding charges.

Brayden Bunnett-Moraga, 23-years-old of Belleville was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

Vehicle versus pedestrian collision results in criminal charges against vehicle driver
On the 15th of June at 2:22am, Belleville Police and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near North Front St and Tracey St.

Responding officers learned that the suspect vehicle failed to remain at the scene, however it left behind parts of the vehicle including a bumper which contained the licence plate.

The pedestrian received medical attention for injuries to her head and face.

The vehicle was registered to a resident in Napanee.

Belleville Police contacted the OPP and requested their assistance in the investigation.

The involved vehicle was located at a residence in Napanee and the driver was arrested shortly after.

As a result of the investigation, 24-year-old William Savard of Napanee was charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm, failing to stop after an accident and impaired operation causing bodily harm.

He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in July.
