Cobourg Cougars Head Into New Year with Lengthy Losing Streak

In Hockey

The Cobourg Cougars junior A hockey club will look to reverse its fortunes after the calendar flips to 2026.

Following numerous staff and player changes during the 2025 portion of this season’s Ontario Junior Hockey League schedule, the Cougars (7-28-0-1) which are under new ownership this season have the third worst record in the league and had lost 15 straight heading into the holiday break.

That includes all eight games in December and during that stretch Cobourg was outscored 58-13.

The Cougars return to action Friday night in Pickering.
