Belleville Police – Incidents Include Vehicle Fails to Stop for Police, Warrant Arrest, Disturbance

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 275 calls for service between 5:00 am on April 4, 2025 to 5:00 am on April 7, 2025.

Vehicle failed to stop for police
Belleville Police attempted to stop a vehicle on the 6th of April at 2:14am for suspected impaired driving when the vehicle took off south bound on North Front Street. Police discontinued the pursuit due to public safety. The vehicle is described as an older model Chevrolet pick-up with Ontario licence plate CA91497. The vehicle also has pink fender flares, and aftermarket tires and rims. If you know the driver of this vehicle or its whereabouts, please contact Cst O’Hara at 613 966 0882 x 4244.

Arrested on Warrants
On the 4th of April, at 2:38pm, Belleville Police responded to a call for service at a west-end business. An employee of the business reported that an unknown female had entered and been sleeping in a customer’s vehicle in the parking lot. Officers attended the area and located a female party who was currently wanted by the Belleville Police Service. Through investigation, a 38-year-old Belleville woman was taken into custody, wanted for breach of probation, theft under $5000 and two counts of fail to appear in court. She was held for a bail hearing.

Disturbance leads to arrest
Belleville Police were called to a Sidney Street address on April 5, at 1:44pm for a female refusing to leave the property. The suspect was located, said to be bothering the residents of the building, and acting oddly. It was also discovered she was bound by a probation order with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. As a result, a 45-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with cause a disturbance and breach of probation. She was held for a bail hearing.

Traffic stop leads to arrest and charges
On the 7th of April at 1:36am, an officer on patrol in the area of Church and Station Street conducted a vehicle stop and learned that the 25-year-old male driver from Oshawa had several outstanding warrants from the York and Toronto Police Services. The male was arrested at the roadside on the strength of the warrants.
Further investigation revealed that the male was in violation of several release conditions. As a result, he was charged with five counts of failing to comply with a Release Order and obstructing police. He was held for a bail hearing.
