Video – A Few Missing Nuts Seem To Be Causing Problems on Cobourg’s East Pier

In Local

It seems the new benches installed not long ago are missing more than a few nuts.

Approximately six or more benches were added to the ones on the east pier recently.

But Today’s Northumberland was told that one had been retrieved from the waters of Lake Ontario and another on the evening of August 1, 2024 was located on the south side of the pier where there are no pedestrians allowed.

The nuts were removed from the anchors and the heavy bench was moved from the area of the pier to the other.

It’s unknown how much the benches cost, but it’s a safe bet they weren’t cheap.

If the town doesn’t properly anchor them, they’ll likely be soon fishing for others in Lake Ontario.
