Galalicious 2023 Raises More Than $212,000 for NHH

In Community

On the evening of Saturday, November 4, 2023, Galalicious returned to Northumberland County, with more than 500 guests, spread throughout 13 locations. The second event of its kind organized by Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation, this year more than $212,000 was raised during what was tagged as ‘A Night to Unite for NHH.’

As has become a tradition in the 23 years of NHH Foundation gala events, a post-event magazine has been released featuring additional details and photos from the evening. This year’s magazine is available for viewing in digital format at www.NHHFoundation.ca.

In a joint message from NHH Foundation CEO, Rhonda Cunningham, and Board Chair, Gavin Ivory, the two share:

“When we look back at the photos from the evening, there are so many faces to see. This includes faces of those who have NEVER missed our Gala event in its 23-year history; and familiar faces of community builders who not only support NHH, but who can be seen supporting many other local causes in the name of wanting to create a stronger community. We see our sponsors, volunteers, Hospital staff, physicians, and midwives, and we see faces of some we don’t yet know (but hope to soon!). This makes us optimistic that the future is bright and excellent health care services will continue for the patients of NHH.”

NHH Foundation’s annual Gala is the organization’s most financially successful fundraising event, raising more than $3.75 million to date to support critical priorities at NHH over the past 22 years. The Galalicious format was first introduced in 2021 as a spin on the event to bring people together while abiding by all public health guidelines.

“It was more than a fundraiser,” shares Bridget Smith, Galalicious 2023 Chair, “It was a way to engage our community, to partner with restaurants across our catchment area and offer fabulous food at every price point while giving back to NHH Foundation.”

Galalicious 2023 featured many of the much-loved elements from past events, including an exciting community raffle; the organization’s most successful online auction to date, featuring over 110 items and experiences; and the Fund Me auction, which raised money to fund two bronchoscopes at NHH.
