Breakfast Club Invites You to Special Program

In Local, Upcoming Events

By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland
The Men’s Breakfast Club at St. George’s Anglican Church in Grafton welcomes you to Friday-morning breakfast every week, but on May 8, there’s something special on the program – a presentation by Christian Harvey of Transition House.

Harvey is now interim Executive Director of the group that operates Northumberland County’s higher-barrier homeless shelter at 310 Division St., Cobourg, as well as the founder of One City Peterborough. His talk will give some insight into the vital work Transition House is doing locally.

Organize Sharon O’Connor said it’s an opportunity to hear first-hand how the community’s homeless are doing – or not doing.

Rather than whip up individual breakfasts as always, served up each Friday at St. George’s Canon Nind Hall, the Men’s Breakfast Club are instead preparing a buffet breakfast for May 8 that will be ready for everyone at 9:30 a.m. And instead of paying for your breakfast, those in attendance are encouraged to make donations for Transition House.

St. George’s is located at 10792 County Rd. 2 in Grafton, and everyone is welcome.
