Cobourg’s Andrex Kellar was named the Durham College Lords male athlete of the week for the period ending Sept. 24.

Kellar, who’s in his first season with the men’s rugby team, scored two tries for the Lords in a 45-14 win over the Georgian Grizzlies on Sunday. It was noted in the announcement that in addition to being the offensive leader, Kellar was also strong on the defensive side of the ball helping to limit Georgian’s scoring opportunities.

The Port Hope Panthers took an early lead, but ultimately fell 7-2 to the Frankford Huskies Monday night in Provincial Junior Hockey League action at the Frankford Arena.

Tyler McGarvey and Josh Sainthill scored for the Panthers in the loss.

Port Hope is back in action Saturday night when they host the Napanee Raiders. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.
