Northumberland County’s Funding Agreement with Community Agency

As the local system manager for social services, Northumberland County engages in funding agreements with community agencies for the delivery of both ongoing and project-based programs and services for residents.

Northumberland County Community and Social Services has contracted with Green Wood Coalition in the past (between 2018 and 2021) for term projects including:

Focus groups with individuals who have lived experience with homelessness, to inform service planning and delivery

Peer Support services for individuals experiencing homelessness

Food support services for individuals in need

On-site supports at the emergency shelter for unsheltered individuals at Cobourg Collegiate Institute during the early months of the pandemic in 2020

Operation of the 2020/2021 winter warming room as a support service for unsheltered individuals

Project funding totaled approximately $148,000 during this period.
