Not only is the Town of Cobourg beginning to move beyond COVID-19 restrictions – at this week’s council meeting, it became clear that special events are also coming back.

Mayor John Henderson announced that the Civic Awards committee has announced that this year’s presentation will be a live gala, April 27 at 7 p.m.

“We have a lot of terrific individuals to recognize as part of that very special offering.”’

Councillor Adam Bureau announced that a 2022 Waterfront Festival is in the planning stages, with details to be announced in coming weeks. Meanwhile, the Experience Cobourg Winter Festival is on for March 5 with ice sculptures downtown, live ice-carving demonstrations at 10 a.m. At the outdoor skating rink, and free skating at the Cobourg Community Centre with members of the Cobourg Cougars and (between 5:30 and 7 p.m.) a disk jockey.

For anyone who does not follow the Victoria Hall Concert Hall on social media, Bureau recommends signing on in order to keep up with shows and events that will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are all excited to see events open up for the betterment of the Town of Cobourg in all aspects,” Henderson said.
