Another dousing of the white stuff kept emergency services busy throughout Northumberland County on Monday, January 19, 2026.

Numerous vehicles spun out on Highway 401 and ended up in the ditch including transports.

In some areas, blowing snow made for white-out conditions.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 401, east of Cobourg were closed for approximately 30-minutes while a number of vehicles were removed after a collision.

A sign north of Colborne summed up this years winter – “STOP” snowing.

The sounds of snow blowers could be heard on most streets in Cobourg. Snow plow drivers did their best clearing area roadways.

In Cobourg, the weather didn’t deter a number of people from using Rotary Harbourfront Rink.

The winds once again whipped up a raging Lake Ontario as blankets of clouds seem to watch over the fiery setting sun.
