Cobourg Police Investigating Shooting Incident at Pizza Pizza

Cobourg Police say they believe eight shots were fired from a pellet gun into  the window of Pizza Pizza on Monday, September 25, 2023.

At approximately 5:45 a.m. unknown suspects shot “projectiles” from what is believed to be a pellet gun at the front window of the business which is located across from the Cobourg Police Service.

Seven of the projectiles went through the front window of the business, some struck the ceiling and continued on into the menu display which is over the front counter behind the cash register.

No one was at the business at the time and employees discovered the shooting when they arrived for work shortly before 10 a.m.

OPP Forensic Identification officers conducted an extensive investigation inside and outside of the business.

Police are canvassing the area and reviewing surveillance video footage. An update will be provided when information is available.

Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area is asked to call police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
