A bit of a distraction during a beautiful summer evening in Victoria Park on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
During the concert, several police officers arrived near the bandshell.
A short time later one person was taken away in handcuffs from behind the bandshell.
Despite the brief distraction, the Concert Band of Cobourg entertained a large crowd gathered in the park for its regular Tuesday evening concert. Throughout the summer, weather permitting, the band performs free concerts beginning at 7:30 p.m., drawing residents and visitors alike to Victoria Park.
It is not known why the individual was taken into custody, and as of Tuesday evening there was no information available regarding any charges.
Following the brief police presence, the concert continued and the evening’s entertainment resumed under clear summer skies.
