Northumberland County Awards Tender to Build Campbellford Emergency-Services Base

In Community, Local

Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland
Northumberlad County council has accepted the recommendation presented at its July meeting, and awarded a contract to build an emergency-services base in Trent Hills to TaskForce Engineering Inc.
TaskForce had the highest score from the review process, the report said, and the proposed price is $5,497,000 plus HST.
The motion included approval of debenture financing for the county portion of costs, not to exceed $1,571,627.
The project is being undertaken in order to address the increasing call volumes in Trent Hills, the report said, and mitigate the inherent challenges of rural-response times. This station will serve an area of 510 sq. km., offering coverage to the northeastern portion of the county (and secondary coverage to Cramahe, Brighton and Alnwick-Haldimand townships).
