Inquest into the Death of Dominick Martorino Taking Place

The inquest into the death of Dominick Martorino will began at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026. Murray Segal is the presiding officer and Jai Dhar is the inquest counsel.

Mr. Martorino, 43 years old, died on April 6, 2021, following an interaction with officers from the Ontario Provincial Police on the same day. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Martorino’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The inquest is expected to last five days and hear from approximately five witnesses.
