Northumberland OPP – Trent Hills Stockings for Seniors Campaign Returns for 2026

In Community, Local

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in partnership with the Municipality of Trent Hills, is pleased to support the return of the Trent Hills Stockings for Seniors campaign for 2026.

The annual community initiative helps bring comfort and holiday cheer to local seniors during the festive season. Residents are encouraged to donate new, unopened items that will be used to fill stockings for seniors throughout Trent Hills.

Donations can be dropped off at the Campbellford OPP Detachment, located at 20 Industrial Drive, or Stedmans V&S, located at 16 Front Street North, during regular business hours. Popular donation items include toiletries, warm socks, tissues, tea, puzzle books, c olouring books, playing cards and other small comfort items. A full list of suggested donations is available on the campaign poster.

The campaign will accept donations until December 10, 2026, at which time the items will be collected by OPP members for distribution to local seniors in advance of the holiday season.

“The holiday season can be a difficult time for some seniors in our communities,” said PC Kim Johnston of the Northumberland OPP.

“This campaign provides an opportunity for residents to make a meaningful difference with a simple act of kindness and help ensure seniors know they are valued, remembered and supported.”

Community members are encouraged to support the initiative and help ensure local seniors feel remembered and valued during the holidays.

For additional information, please contact PC Kim Johnston at 613-475-1313.
