In Police Blotter

Two arrested for failing to comply with undertaking and release orders after traffic stop Friday.

On May 22, 2026, at approximately 4:15 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by an individual known to be on a driving prohibition for a previous offence.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 34-year-old Hamilton Township man, was arrested and charged with Operation While Prohibited, two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, and two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order.

Police determined that the passenger, a 42-year-old Whitby woman, was bound by an undertaking and a release order not to communicate with, or be within 100 metres of, the driver. She was subsequently arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking, two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Mischief. Both individuals were held for a bail hearing. The driver was released on a release order, while the passenger was remanded into custody. The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
