The Town of Cobourg confirms that Mayor Lucas Cleveland and a member of the municipality’s senior leadership team received threatening correspondence by mail this week.

The matter has been reported to the Cobourg Police Service.

“The safety and well-being of municipal staff, Council members, and the public is a standing priority of the Town. Threats and intimidation have no place in civic discourse. Residents are encouraged to engage constructively through Council meetings, public delegations, and established democratic processes,” said Mayor Lucas Cleveland.

No further details regarding the correspondence will be released.
