In Upcoming Events

The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) will be conducting a Basic Military Qualification (BMQ) course and conducting tactical training near Mountain View Airport from 6-8 March 2026.

The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment, known as the “Hasty P’s” will be conducting BMQ training in a property located near Burr Road in Prince Edward County, which is used regularly by the Regiment.

BMQ is a rigorous program that teaches new military members the core skills and knowledge required to succeed in a military environment. It focuses on physical fitness, drill, weapons handling, and survival skills, requiring high disciple and teamwork to succeed.

Residents may notice military vehicles, equipment and personnel with weapons (using blanks / simulated ammunition). The exercise will involve blank firing and may result in some noise in the area.
