City of Kawartha Lakes Police – Scarborough Man Charged with Flight from Police (No Name Released)

In Police Blotter

Two persons were taken into custody after a driver fled from police during a traffic stop on November 28, 2025.

At approximately 8:00am an officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle being driven with licence plates which did not belong on it. A traffic stop was initiated in the area of Lindsay Street North and the driver of the vehicle failed to pull over as directed and sped away from the officer. Given the risks to public safety the officer did not pursue the vehicle.

A short time later police were called to a business on Lindsay Street South in regard to the same vehicle dangerously entering the parking lot. A witness observed a male driver and female passenger exit the vehicle. The driver threw the keys into a wooded area and the two walked southbound away from the vehicle.

The male and female were quickly located by responding officers and were taken into custody. Both were found to be in breach of release conditions, and the driver was also prohibited from driving.

As a result of the investigation:

A 40-year-old Scarborough man is charged with Flight from peace officer, Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code x 9, Fail to Comply with Probation and various Provincial offences.

A 39-year-old female from Toronto is charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Fail to Comply with Probation.

Both were held in custody and transported to the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay for a bail hearing.
