City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Pedestrian Fatality After Being Struck by Motorcycle

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision that took place around 8:27pm on April 09, 2026.

City of Kawartha Lakes OPP along with fire and EMS were dispatched to a collision on North Mountain Road in Bexley Township. The driver of a motorcycle collided with a pedestrian on the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

North Mountain Road was closed bet ween Doyle Road and County Road 41 while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
