Chair of Cobourg Police Services Board Defends Video Released by Police Chief

In Police Blotter

The recent video released by the Cobourg Police Service highlights the critical role policing plays in building safe, strong, and resilient communities. Investing in policing is not simply an operational decision; it is an investment in community safety, in the strength of our neighbourhoods, and in the future of the Town of Cobourg as it continues to grow.

The Board has worked closely with Chief VandeGraaf to develop a responsible budget that reflects these priorities. This budget is focused on essentials, with every dollar directed toward ensuring all members, uniform and civilian, have the tools and resources they need to protect and serve effectively.

Community safety is the foundation upon which strong communities are built. By supporting policing, we are supporting residents and creating an environment where families, businesses, and individuals can thrive.
