Cobourg Police – Three Youths Charged After Theft Investigation

Three youths have been arrested as a result of an investigation into retail theft.

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to respond to a theft after the fact at a downtown business believed to be associated with Organized Retail Crime. An investigation was launched, and as a result, three youth, a 15-year-old male, a 16-year-old male, and a 17-year-old male, all of Toronto, were arrested and jointly charged with the following offences:

Theft under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code
The 15-year-old and 16-year-old males were additionally charged with one count each of breaching an undertaking.

The youth were released with a future court date.
