Kawartha Lakes Police Service – Waving Knife on Bridge Creates Attention

A 36-year-old male from Lindsay, ON is in police custody after a bystander called to report a male on the Wellington Street bridge wearing a ski mask waving a large knife around.

The call for service came around 1:00pm on Sunday September 7, 2025. A description was broadcast to responding officers who tracked the suspect a short distance away to the living facility where he resides. Investigation confirmed the male entered his room still in possession of the knife and that he was currently wanted on two outstanding warrants.

Officers entered and arrested the male without incident, and a knife described by the witness was seized.

As a result of the investigation the accused was charged with:

· Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

The accused was transported to the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, pending a bail hearing.
