Town of Cobourg – Special Council Meeting Called For August 25, 2025

The Town of Cobourg Legislative Services Division would like to inform all residents that pursuant to section 5.6 of the Town of Cobourg Procedural Bylaw a Special Meeting of Council has been called of Municipal Council scheduled to take place on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 6 p.m.

The meeting is being held to consider the following items:

1. Discussion by Council regarding Mayoral Decision MDEC-2025-008 – Being a Mayoral Decision to amend the Organizational Structure to create a Development Division, hire a Director of Development, and create a Deputy Director Position

2. THAT Council meet in Closed Session (if necessary) in accordance with section 239 of the Municipal Act S.O. 2001 regarding:
• personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees (s. 239 (2) (b))

• advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose (s. 239 (2) (f)).

The agenda has been posted on the Town website. This Special Council Meeting will be held using a hybrid meeting model. Members of Council and Municipal Staff will have the choice to participate in-person in Council Chambers or to participate virtually via electronic participation.

The public may view the Council meeting live via the Town of Cobourg livestream available on
cobourg.ca/escribe. If Council moves into closed session, the public will see a Closed Session
screen on the livestream of the Special Meeting.
