Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include Resisting Arrest, Assault, Break and Enter, Breach

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 267 calls for service beginning at 5:00 am on July 18, 2025 to 5:00 am on July 21, 2025.

Assault, Resisting Arrest
On July 18th at approximately 10:45pm, Belleville Police responded to a call in the city’s west end regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned a female had been striking a male in a parking lot before returning home. Officers located the female, who began resisting arrest and spat on an officer. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged for:
· Assault
· Assault a peace officer
· Resist peace officer

She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in August 2025.

Assault
On July 19th, at approximately 12:15am, Belleville Police attended a bar in the city’s west end regarding an assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that a patron was struck by a male while inside the establishment. Officers located the male a short distance away. As a result, Jordan Haggett, 31-year-old Belleville resident, was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October 2025.

Downtown Disturbance
On July 19th at approximately 10:15pm, Belleville Police officers on general patrol in the downtown area observed a group of males involved in a verbal altercation. During the incident, one individual was seen brandishing a knife while confronting the others. Officers responded, issuing verbal commands for the male to drop the weapon. The male complied without further incident and no injuries were reported.
As a result, Eric Parrinder, 32-year-old Belleville resident, was arrested and charged with:
· Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
· Causing a disturbance

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October 2025.

Disturbance at Group Home
On July 19th at approximately 9:00pm, Belleville Police responded to a call at a group home in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female resident had assaulted two staff members and caused damage to property within the residence. Further investigation revealed that the female was in violation of a release order and a probation order. As a result, a 25-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with:
· Two counts of assault
· Mischief under $5,000
· Failure to comply with release order
· Failure to comply with probation order

She was held for a bail hearing.

 

Break and Enter
On July 20th at approximately 12:25am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at an apartment building in the city’s south end. A private security company actively monitoring the building reported that two unknown males had entered the lobby area without authorization. Upon arrival, officers observed the two suspects fleeing the scene on foot. Both males were safely apprehended and arrested without further incident.
The individuals were identified and later released as the investigation remains ongoing.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

Assault, Breach of Release Order
On July 20th at approximately 5:30pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a physical altercation between two males at an apartment complex in the city’s west end. Upon arrival, officers learned that one male had been kicking and punching the other male.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect was in violation of a release order with a condition to remain in the presence of his surety. As a result, 31-year-old Belleville resident was located, arrested and charged with:
· Assault
· Failure to comply with release order

He was held for a bail hearing.
