Port Hope Police Investigate Group Assault

On the evening of May 27, 2025, Port Hope Police responded to a report of a physical altercation involving multiple individuals outside a residence in Port Hope.

The investigation revealed the incident stemmed from an ongoing domestic conflict between two former partners.

One individual, accompanied by three others, arrived at the location and became involved in a verbal and physical altercation with those present. During the incident, a male victim was physically assaulted and sustained significant injuries after being attacked by the group. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The victim was transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital for treatment. Port Hope Police have since laid charges of Assault Causing Bodily Harm against four individuals.

Victim Services has been engaged to provide support and safety planning for those affected. The investigation remains ongoing.

 

 

Break and Enter Suspect Arrested and Facing Multiple Charges

On May 31, 2025, at approximately 3:10a.m., Port Hope Police responded to a report from a local resident who discovered an unknown male inside their home.

Responding officers located a male matching the description nearby. He was arrested without incident.

The male was transported to the Port Hope Police Service and held for a bail hearing. He is facing the following charges:

  • Unlawfully in a dwelling house
  • Fail to comply with probation order x2

 

 

Domestic Assault Investigation Leads to Arrest

On May 31, 2025, at approximately 1:5 p.m., Port Hope Police responded to a report of a domestic assault.

The complainant reported During a verbal argument; the suspect allegedly grabbed the complainant’s wrist pushing them into a wall.

At approximately 2:30p.m officers attended the scene and the suspect was placed under arrest for assault.

The accused was released from custody later that afternoon on conditions, pending a future court date.

 

Domestic Assault Leads to Arrest

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, at approximately 8:21p.m., Port Hope Police were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute involving an assault.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the female victim, who reported that during an argument in the lobby of her residence, she was kicked in the stomach by her partner, causing her to fall. She sustained minor injuries and was assessed by paramedics.

The suspect was located shortly after 10:00p.m. and arrested without incident. During processing, it was determined that the accused was also in breach of a probation order related to a previous conditional sentence.

The accused was held in custody for booking and later released on an Undertaking with conditions.
