Video – North York Man Charged After Transport Goes Off Roading

In Police Blotter

A 21-year-old North York man is charged with careless driving after a transport truck drove off Highway 401 just west of Cobourg on Thursday, May 29, 2025.

At approximately 6:40 a.m. emergency services were dispatched to the westbound lanes of Highway 401 approximately two kilometres west of Burnham Street for a transport that had gone off the highway.

The transport went through a ditch, but did not tip over.

Due to the proximity of the nearest road, tow operators decided to remove the transport carrying car parts by removing the fence and towing the transport onto Telephone Road.

Telephone Road between Theatre Road and Burnham Street North was closed until the transport was removed.
