City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Whitby Driver Charged with Impaired (Name Released)

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving information about a possible impaired driver.

On Monday May 19, 2025 at approximately 9:15 pm officers responded to reports regarding a motor vehicle departing a local establishment after being cutoff from service of alcohol. A traffic stop was conducted in Fenelon Township on Highway 35 and the driver was arrested and charged.

Daniel Cisneros, 31-year-old of Whitby, was charged with:

Failure or Refusal to Comply with Lawful Demand

Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and drivers license was suspended for 90 days.
