UPDATE – Cobourg Police – Ninth Person Arrested Joint Investigation – Project Amalie

A ninth person was arrested as a result of a multi-Jurisdiction investigation.

On Monday, April 28, 2025, Madison TAIT (27) of Courtice was arrested on an outstanding warrant and
charged with the following offences:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in schedule I substance – cocaine

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in schedule I substance

• Possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

• Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

• Careless storage of firearm

The accused was held for bail and subsequently remanded into custody.

Today’s Northumberland reached out to ask Cobourg Police how they choose the name Project Amalie.

Manager of Communications, Lisa Munday stated, “the project name was selected at random by CIB.”
