In Local

Work continues on the replacement project of a new breakwater system being installed by the Trent Port Marina in Trenton.

On Friday, March 14,  2025 work was taking place along the Trent River, just south of the Trent Bridge.

The existing breakwaters are being replaced with floating steel box breakwaters with the work expected to be completed by April 2025.

The floating steel box breakwaters are designed to withstand waves, along with protecting marina infrastructure.

The new breakwater system cost just under six-million dollars and has an expected lifespan of 40 years.
