Update – Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Assault at Dog Park (Name Released)

A 27-year-old Cobourg man has been charged with assault following an investigation of an incident Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a dispute at a public park on Ontario Street in Cobourg. Investigation revealed that a verbal dispute between two groups of individuals escalated into a physical altercation. One individual was transported to hospital for minor injuries.

As a result of the police investigation, on April 24, 2024, Zachory Whyte (27) of Cobourg was arrested and charged with assault.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
