Video – Large Barn Destroyed by Fire in Cramahe Township

A large barn was destroyed by fire on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

At approximately 7:50 p.m. Cramahe Fire Department were dispatched to a barn fire just west of Colborne along County Road 2.

The glow and flames from the fire could be seen from several kilometres away.

When firefighters arrived on scene, the barn was already engulfed in flames.

Fire departments including Alnwick/Haldimand and Brighton were immediately called for assistance with water tankers and manpower.

County Road 2 was blocked in the area for several hours while firefighters extinguished the blaze.

A camper trailer was also destroyed in the blaze.

It’s unknown how the fire started and estimate of damage.

Today’s Northumberland will update as soon as more details are available.
