Peterborough County OPP – Assault Charge Laid After Fire Used as a Weapon (Name Released)

An individual has been charged after attempting to spray fire at another person during a dispute.

On December 23, 2023, members of the Peterborough County OPP responded to a call regarding a dispute between two parties shortly after midnight. While arguing, the accused used a spray aerosol and a lighter and sprayed fire at the other party. As a result of the investigation, the accused was charg ed.

Jayden VAN ALLEN (age 21) of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

The accused was held for Bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.
