Cobourg Police – Utter Threats, Indecent Act, Assault Police (No Name Released)

A 37-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after an incident on Sunday night.

On Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 6:50 p.m., police were called to a residence in the area of Burke Street and Ball Street in Cobourg for a report of an indecent act. The complainant advised police an individual made threatening remarks and exposed their buttocks to the complainant before leaving the area.

Through reviewing CCTV footage of the area, police identified a person of interest.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested. During the arrest, the woman became combative and resisted arrest. As a result, she was charged with the following offences:

1. Indecent Act contrary to section 173(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

2. Utter Threats Cause Death or Bodily Harm contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) CCC

3. Assault Police with Intent to Resist Arrest contrary to section 270(1)(b) CCC

The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date scheduled for June 21, 2023.
