Cameco Holds Emergency Preparedness Exercise in Port Hope

Cameco held a planned emergency preparedness exercise at the Fuel Manufacturing facility in Port Hope on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

The exercise was a coordinated effort along with members of the Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services

Fire services responded to the facility and were met by members of Cameco.  The exercise simulated a fire in an office area of the building.  Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and full bunker gear had to located the fire and using specialized equipment extinguished the flames.

Cameco performs planned emergency exercises and holds regular consultations with local emergency services as part of our commitment to the continuous improvement of our emergency planning and preparedness program.
