Cobourg Announces Closures to Film Tim Hortons Commercial

The Town of Cobourg routinely announces road and parking-lot closures when filming takes place in town.

But on Friday, July 8, 2022, the filming of a Tim Hortons commercial will also involve the closure of bike paths.

Promoting the chain’s maple bacon breakfast sandwich, the commercial will feature a roller skater. Filming will take place at Rotary Harbourfront Park, Victoria Park and the Esplanade.

Preparation and filming are expected to run from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and about 50 people will be involved (including staff and actors).

Technical-production workers will be parked at the Albert Street and Second Street lots, but the town expects there will be plenty of space left for residents’ and visitors’ cars.

Although no road closures are anticipated, Cobourg Police Service will conduct intermittent traffic stoppages where necessary.

“The Town of Cobourg thanks residents for their understanding and co-operation during this project,” the announcement said.
