Busy Times Along Cobourg Waterfront

In Local

Busy times along the lakeshore around the Cobourg Harbour on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

Approximately 60 sailboats are being transports from the boat compound at the bottom of Hibernia Street to parking areas along The Esplanade and at the bottom of Division Street in preparation for this weekend.

The area the trailer takes to transport the watercraft has been blocked off to pedestrian traffic with tape causing a few people to air their displeasure to town staff.

Staff said the measure was put in place strictly for safety of pedestrians and due to insurance reasons.

The boat ramp has been dredged along with the area around the inner harbour beach.

The Explanade will e open on Friday, but on Saturday the same closures will take place as they did on Thursday.
