Breaking News – SIU Confirms Suspect Involved in Abduction/Carjacking in Port Hope Has Died

The Special Investigations Unit has confirmed the suspect involved in a carjacking earlier in Port Hope has died.

SIU said the investigation is continuing and is in its early stages, but no name or age has been given.

The suspect was armed with a machete when he entered a pickup going  through the drive-thru at Tim Horton’s just north of Highway 401 at Port Hope earlier today.

A high-speed pursuit ended at Highway 115 and Highway 401.  The driver (victim) suffered knife wounds, a female passenger (victim) was uninjured.

The  suspect had just fled the scene of a collision involving a pickup truck at the intersection of Ontario and Molson Streets in Port Hope moments earlier.

Two people involved in the first collision in the pickup truck were taken to hospital and have since been released.
