Northumberland OPP – Impaired Driving Charged in Alnwick/Haldimand Township

On Sunday November 28, 2021, shortly before 7:18 pm, a member of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) came across a single motor vehicle collision on County Rd 9 in Alnwick-Haldimand. The officer suspected the driver had consumed alcohol.

Subsequent to investigation:

Michael MCSWAN (age 36) of Clarington ON was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol< /li>
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on January 12, 2022.
