Port Hope Emergency Services Walk A Mile In Her Shoes Supporting Cornerstone

In Charity, Community, Local

Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services along with the Port Hope Police Services went for a walk wearing red high heel shoes on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

The walk was a fundraiser for the Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre in Cobourg and to raise awareness of family violence.

Traditionally Walk A Mile In Her Shoes would be done as a group with men walking a mile wearing red high heel shoes, but due to COVID that isn’t possible.

Walkers started off from the Port Hope Police station on Fox Road then went down Pemberton Road before returning back to the police station.

Port Hope Fire Chief Dan Smith and Captain Mark Lent decided to sprint to the finish just to see how it felt.

Afterwards, police were very accommodating supply donuts for everyone involved including Municipality of Port Hope Building Officials and By-law officers who took part in the walk.
