Video – Police Investigating Suspicious Porta-Potty Fire in Cobourg

In Local, Police Blotter

Cobourg Police are investigating after a portable toilet was deliberately set on fire late Monday night.

Cobourg Fire Department crews were called to Alexandria Drive, just east of the Cobourg Community Centre and north of Legion Fields, at approximately 10:10 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Investigators believe one of three portable toilets at the location was intentionally set on fire. The flames may have been extinguished by those responsible before firefighters arrived.

One portable toilet sustained damage, while the two units beside it were not affected.

Police are searching for the person or persons responsible for the incident.

Investigators have not determined whether the fire is connected to another suspicious portable toilet fire that occurred on June 5, 2025. That incident was also ruled suspicious.

Anyone with information about Monday night’s fire is encouraged to contact Cobourg Police or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
